The scorecard evaluates your business across four dimensions. Profitability measures how effectively you convert revenue into profit, considering both net and gross margins. Liquidity assesses your cash position and ability to meet obligations, factoring in runway and quick ratio. Growth tracks your revenue momentum against common benchmarks. Efficiency examines how well you manage your cash conversion cycle through accounts receivable and payable.

Overall Score = Profitability (30%) + Liquidity (25%) + Growth (25%) + Efficiency (20%) Each category scores 0-100 with bonuses for strong sub-metrics. Letter grades: A+ (90+), A (85+), A- (80+), B+ (75+), B (70+), B- (65+), C+ (60+), C (55+), C- (50+), D (40+), F (<40)
Why it matters for your business
Benchmarks differ by stage and industry. A pre-revenue startup with a D in profitability but an A in growth is doing exactly what it should. A mature business with the same scores has a serious problem. Use the scorecard as a diagnostic tool, not a final judgment -- context matters enormously.
